***GAME 1***

Mediocrity abound as heavy Series underdogs, Urban Shockers snag a shockingly close 49-45 victory in Game 1 of the FNFT World Series. Both teams' starting pitchers scored 15 points, both teams' relievers scored 7, both teams' top hitter scored 7, both teams' second best hitter scored 5, both teams' third best hitter scored 4. In fact, had any two of Ryan Theriot, Carlos Lee, or Aaron Rowand scored 3 points instead of 1 point, the game would have been an absolute tie with no tie-breaker!

As it is, a shrewed pickup of Chad Billinsley puts the game in the books for Max saving him from having to wait out Ian Snell today.

Joe's switch to Adrian Gonzalez netted him 6 points over Jason Giambi, however if he'd have played his other Gonzalez - Alex - he would have won the game. Gotta get those sky pointing ____s (rhymes with pricks) back in the game.

If it's any consolation to Joe, in three of the last four FNFT World Series, the loser of Game 1 has come back to win the Series.

Game 2 is Tuesday. Brandon Webb is again on the hill for Joe (on Wednesday). Billingsley won't pitch until Thursday leaving Max with either Gil Meche, or any one of a number of unknown, promising, young pitching prospects who are slated to pitch one of the two days.
